Field Report: Medical Marijuana Patients Are Not Criminals at Ports of Entry

By Cannabis Across Borders:

CAB with Canada's Princess of Pot
Mrs. Jodie Emery - August 2014
The World Health Organization was right about Cannabis not being a dangerous drug. Therefore at ports of entry we are not criminals because use of Cannabis is a humanitarian right as defined by international treaties law.  As the Year 2019 progresses, things seem to be improving regarding international medical marijuana patients at ports of entry into Canada.

5 years after the US Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a Canadian citizen by the name of Marc Scott Emery, imprisoned him for 5 years and deported via the Detroit/Windsor Tunnel for Marijuana Crimes, New Canadian law for has been established for users of cannabis as their medicine. Persons entering Canada with a valid Medical Marijuana card from another country will not be subject to arrests or fines if the person:

1. Declares their Medical Marijuana Card to border officers
2. Posses 8 grams or less of cannabis

If are selected to go to secondary inspection and, you have ANY amount in your possession, then you must turn it in to Canadian Border Security Agency officers. By declaring your card you are protected under international law and you will not be arrested, strip searched, or fined.  Then you will be allowed access into Canada and back. Anything over that amount will get you arrested fined and refused entry into the country. YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MEDICINE BACK!

Returning Citizen Marc Emery from 5 years of imprisonment
for Marijuana Crimes of selling seeds.

This is a major change in policy from the Canadian government on the treatment of American Medical Marijuana patients at ports of entry into Canada. Prime Minister Trudeau is to be commended for taking such bold action on implementing sensible cannabis policy.  We hope that Canadian citizens who are medical patients are given the same treatment when they come to the United States. As a favor we hope the Trudeau Government will have storage lockers for patients who mistakenly bring their Canada so that when you return home to Detroit, you can retrieve your medicine at the Duty Free before you leave the country. This man deserves re-election because we don't need another Donald Trump in the great white north. Anybody in Washington D.C. wanting to start a war with Canadians is a damn fool.

Canada says YES to Canabis
With regards to military service, the Canadian Government takes care of their veterans by subsidizing their Cannabis use to treat the PTSD effects of military service.  When it comes to Unions, the Laborers International Union of North America have successfully negotiated treatment for Medical Marijuana into their collective bargaining agreements to fight the Opioid crisis.  Nationwide Canada is doing well with their national legalization effort despite what you hear from their citizens. As in America, home grown Cannabis is better that the Government brand and, if you are a good grower, your products will reflect your work.

Mexico says YES to Cannabis!
While Mexico has legalized the use of recreational cannabis nationwide the United States of America is dragging its feet and wants to take the world with them. Suppressing the vote at the UN by continually postponing it because the FDA needs more time to "figure things out" is a international embarrassment to democracy. The executive leadership of the United States of America must cease and desist their policy of procedural insubordination through executive orders and de-legislation by stepping up to the plate and amending the International Treaty as recommended by the World Health Organization.

America, c'mon man!
We the People agreed,
that the weed shall be freed
Meanwhile, Cannabis Across Borders is wishing everyone a Happy 420 day.  Do not eat too many medibles, make sure to visit both sides of the river and, with continued pressure from citizens on both sides of the border victory will be complete and the weed will truly be freed.

Yes Indeed.

Building A Bridge of Unity With Cannabis Reform on 4/20/2019

By Cannabis Across Borders
"The City of Detroit shall not be a point of no return for "Marijuana Crimes" against the United States of America"  - Cannabis Across Borders

On April 18, 19, and 20th the first legal cross-border celebration of Cannabis will occur on the Detroit River.  Starting with a 3 day festival in Windsor Canada all the way to Detroit Michigan and back, people will have the opportunity to sample each others products. If you have a passport, enhanced ID and, no marijuana in your possession, you can freely go back and forth on the tunnel or the bridge. If you have a boat, good for you too! Upon entry into Canada, you must declare your medicine at customs and give it to them instead of getting arrested for drug possession.

The historic Detroit River was the goal line when it came to escaping from slavery. People swam and walked over ice flows to freedom. It is a popular spot for deportation of immigrants and cannabis criminals like Canadian Marc Scott Emery. Now it represents the future of North America in fighting the war on opioids with 2 new bridges, Cannabis and, a tunnel.

With a change in policy, people will be able to posses their medicine at ports of entry without arrest, fines, or conviction. Instead of a wall of division and prisons, we can build bridges of inclusion, with no delusion, ending the war on Cannabis at all ports of entry into Canada.

Now is the time to petition Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to stop arresting American medical marijuana patients at ports of entry into Canada on humanitarian grounds. At the same time we must lift all penalties for international travel by expunging all marijuana crimes of Canadian citizens entering the United States of America. Especially Marc Emery because he was kicked out of America through the Detroit/Windsor Tunnel like Dolemite from San Antonio Texas with $150 dollars in cash, a new pair of Nike shoes, and a gourmet meal in handcuffs. American citizens like Charlo Greene of Alaska, would not be arrested and strip searched at Canadian Ports of Entry.

One Day There Will Be, BC Bud at the Duty Free
Canadian Prime Minster Justin Trudeau

We applaud Canadian union Laborers International Union of North America Local 625 (www.liuna625.ca) for writing medical marijuana into their bargaining agreement to fight the nationwide Opoid epidemic.

If you feel that you are going to get stopped at Canadian ports of entry you must declare that you are a medical marijuana patient at the customs booth. Your medicine will be confiscated and you will be allowed entry. Another benefit of declaration is that if thought you cleaned out your car and they find a roach, depending on the Border Security Officer's mood at the time, you will not be arrested, strip searched, fined and sent back to Detroit.

Website: Instructions for Declaring Med. Marijuana at Ports of Entry into Canada

Instead of fines and deportation, a duty tax of $20 declared at customs will help the State of Michigan pay off the loan for the new Gordie Howe Bridge. This will settle out of court the compensation to the owners for the new Ambassador Bridge re-construction with a rail line, foot traffic and bike lanes. The USA and Singapore must quit dragging their feet at the United Nations by continuing to postpone the recommendations of the World Health Organization on rescheduling cannabis from a drug with no medical use to a medicine and a manufacturing product.

We the People have told you all, to Free The Weed and, F- the Wall!
(Where "F-" is a variable in the statement)
Time to quit the BS at the United Nations in Vienna and Vote YES for Cannabis

Otherwise, these products belong at the duty free shops at Detroit/Windsor Tunnel and Ambassador Bridge because, the majority of the citizens on both sides of the Detroit River accept the use of Marijuana as a medicine.

Therefore the members of Cannabis Across Borders are requesting of the Canadian Government a 70 Gram limit of declared medicine at customs subject to duty tax of no more than $20 on the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit/Windsor Tunnel.

Urgent Message for International and Domestic Medical Marijuana Patients at Ports of Entry

By Cannabis Across Borders

It is the position of the United States of America to oppose the recommendation of the World Health Organization regarding the re-scheduling of Cannabis products at the United Nations before the Commission of Narcotics and Drugs on Monday March 18th, 2019 in Vienna Austria.  This is contrary to the popular vote of American Citizens in 30 states and, the passage of the Farm Act law by congress in 2018.

Border Security means protecting patients at ports of entry...

Your voice is needed to tell your representative at the United Nations about how you feel that the United States of America should vote YES on all recommendations by the World Health Organization to reschedule Cannabis including plants and extracts.  This vote will direct the legislators in Washington DC to remove Cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act by making House Resolution 420 the law.

The Official Position of the United States of America regarding Cannabis

At this time, it is uncertain whether the above notification from WHO of recommendations for proposed scheduling action on cannabis and cannabis related substances will be acted upon by 62nd session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (from 14 to 22 March 2019). The Bureau of the 62nd Commission is currently considering whether to postpone voting on the cannabis-related recommendations until the reconvened meeting in December, or the 63rd session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, March 2020. If voting is deferred to a later date the comment period will be reopened.
Although WHO has made specific scheduling recommendations for each of the drug substances, the CND is not obliged to follow the WHO recommendations. Options available to the CND for substances considered for control under the 1971 Psychotropic Convention include the following: (1) Accept the WHO recommendations; (2) accept the recommendations to control but control the drug substance in a schedule other than that recommended; or (3) reject the recommendations entirely.
Cannabis, also known as marijuana, is a plant known by biological names Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica. It is a complex plant containing multiple cannabinoids and other compounds, including the psychoactive substance THC and other structurally similar compounds. Cannabinoids are defined as having activity at cannabinoid 1 and 2 (CB1 and CB2, respectively) receptors. Agonists of CB1 receptors are widely abused and are known to modulate motor coordination, memory processing, pain, and inflammation, and have anxiolytic effects. Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug in the United States.
The principal cannabinoids in the cannabis plant include THC, CBD, and cannabinol. These substances are controlled in Schedule I under the CSA. The synthetically derived single pure stereoisomer, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (also known as dronabinol) is the active ingredient in two approved drug products in the United States, MARINOL (dronabinol) capsules, also available as a generic, and SYNDROS (dronabinol) oral solution. MARINOL is controlled in Schedule III, while SYNDROS is controlled in Schedule II under the CSA. Both MARINOL and SYNDROS are approved to treat anorexia associated with weight loss in patients with AIDS, and nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy in patients who have failed to respond adequately to conventional treatment.
CBD is another cannabinoid constituent of the cannabis plant. In the United States, one CBD-containing product, Epidiolex oral solution, has received marketing approval by the FDA for the treatment of seizures associated with two rare and severe forms of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome, in patients 2 years of age and older. On September 28, 2018, the Drug Enforcement Administration placed FDA-approved product Epidiolex to be marketed into Schedule V of the CSA. Currently, CBD that is not contained in an FDA-approved product with less than 0.1 percent THC is controlled as a Schedule I substance under the CSA. CBD is not specifically listed in the schedules of the 1961, 1971, or 1988 International Drug Control conventions.
FDA, on behalf of the Secretary of HHS, invites interested persons to submit comments on the notifications from the United Nations concerning these drug substances. FDA, in cooperation with the National Institute on Drug Abuse, will consider the comments on behalf of HHS in evaluating the WHO scheduling recommendations. Then, under section 201(d)(2)(B) of the CSA, HHS will recommend to the Secretary of State what position the United States should take when voting on the recommendations for control of substances under the 1971 Psychotropic Convention at the CND meeting in March 2019.
Comments regarding the WHO recommendations for control of Cannabis and Cannabis Resin; Dronabinol (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol); Tetrahydrocannabinol (Isomers of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol); Extracts and Tinctures of cannabis; Cannabidiol Preparations; Preparations Produced Either by Chemical Synthesis or as Preparation of Cannabis; under the 1961 Single Convention will also be forwarded to the relevant Agencies for consideration in developing the U.S. position regarding narcotic substances at the CND meeting.
Dated: February 25, 2019.
Lowell J. Schiller,
Acting Associate Commissioner for Policy.

Michigan Deserves Way Better! Vote The Pro Cannabis 420 Slate August 2018

By the Weed Warrior

On or before August 7th, 2018, cast your vote for candidates who have a proven record of supporting the legalization of marijuana.  Michigan deserves much better in the delegation that is representing southeastern Michigan, especially Wayne County. The current crop of legislators have effectively ignored the votes and the will of the people through their actions. For a political action committee to recommend candidates who are convicted felons, domestic violence abusers, and supporting false claims of sexual harassment by accusers is disgusting and programmed distractions for maximum damage to candidates.

Lansing Michigan 1st day of Medical Marijuana April 2009

When you screen through the drama and, when it comes to the struggle to legalize marijuana, we see these candidates who are cannabis friendly and worthy of your vote in the Michigan Primary Election on or before Tuesday August 7th, 2018.

Elections Canada 2015 - Weed is Howe To Pay For The Gordie Howe International Bridge

by The Weed Warrior

On October 19th, Canadian Citizens will have the opportunity to elect a son of a change leader in Justin Tredeau.  Mr. Tredeau is a candidate for Prime Minister of Canada running against the current prime minister Stephen Harper who is a combination of Donald Trump and Chris Christie regarding Marijuana.  He is primarily responsible for using Canadian taxpayer dollars to send one of their citizens to a United States Federal prison at the request of the Bush Administration’s Drug Enforcement Agency for 5 years for the crime of selling marijuana seeds.  Prime Minister Harper is also loaning money to the State of Michigan to build the Gordie Howe bridge and requiring that Americans pay it back over 30 years just on toll revenue.

"BC Bud from Canada is Cleaner that Oil From Alberta and, Water In Flint MI USA"
- A Detroit Resident listening to Jazz at Baker Keyboard

With a Justin Tredeau victory, the money will be there to pay for a new bridge and, he will allow the United States to pay for the bridge loan with revenue from the bustiling Marijuana industry in America, specifically the State of Michigan.  One of Justin’s first official acts is to decriminalize the stigma and criminal penalties for Marijuana the plant.  Unlike the United States who loves to put people in jail for small amounts of medicine, Canada under Treadeu will not be suckered into the privatized prison scam that has infected the governments of Counties and States across America.  Prisoners are treated like a share of stock on Wall Street and corporations benefit up to $25,000 a year per body in a cell.

Justin’s father was Piere Tredeau one of Canada’s most successful Prime Ministers(wiki def). In 1969 he commissioned a study to  decriminalize  Marijuana so that people would not clog a corrections system with small time drug offenders(click Here for Toronto Star News) .  He also was a statesman because he could get along with everybody and treated people with respect.

By electing Justin Tredeau, this would be an important step towards granting full clemency and pardon to Mr. Marc Scott Emery of Vancouver British Colombia.  By President Obama granting him clemency, Marc and his wife Jodie can cross into Detroit from Windsor on the Ambassador Bridge and stop by and say hi at a provisioning center in our City of Detroit.

So if you know of someone in Canada, please let them know that they can vote NOW up until October 19th, in person for Justin Tredeau son of a change agent.

Fighting the War on Weed: Ending the Double Reverse Racism of the Drug War - Victory is within reach!

by Hard Core Detroit

Sept 13, 2013 @ 4:20am

The desperate fighters of the Drug War have come up with a new strategy.  Put more White People in jail.  Dennis Forsberg, Richard Wershe, Ryan Bashore, Marc Emery are victims of the drug war who happen to be Caucasian.  After reading these cases, you may want to sing a chorus of “Desperado” by the Eagles.

Michigan's Longest Serving Drug War Prisoner
Richard “White Boy Rick” Wershe is the longest serving drug war prisoner in Michigan. Wershe is currently in prison for life since 1987 for dealing 650 grams of cocaine under the draconian 3 strikes law which has since been repealed.  Other prisoners with far more serious crimes, including some of the people Wershe informed on are walking the street today. Wershe was a paid federal government employee recruited to infiltrate the Detroit Police Department by the DEA when he was 15 years old. He was given phony ID, cars and other goodies while people his age were going to High School.  He was a valued employee until he was not needed anymore by the DEA. Numerous attempts for parole have been denied and after a denial, a prisoner has to wait 3 years for another hearing. Is it time to Free White Boy Rick?  In 2013 Richard Wershe would be an owner of a dispensary/provisioning center legally.  Getting rid of the extravagant lifestyle, Richard Wershe would do just fine.

He cannot be a caregiver thanks to Michigan Senators Rick Jones, and Virgil Smith.  Felons are barred from being caregivers even though they have served their time in prison.  Some of these felons are veterans that have been to Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.  To be discriminated against by lawmakers who served in a bar instead of a war zone is outrageous.  Will the current White Boy Rick in the Governor’s office commute his sentence? There are many companies that hire felons so where does the Michigan Senate get off by creating stupid laws like this?  These laws need to meet the fate of the Emergency Manager Law that was rejected by the people through the ballot initiative process. Free Richard Wershe (Change.Org) Petition  (The Story of White Boy Rick - AlterNet.org)

Dennis Forsberg, Ryan Bashore, Lance Forsberg, are three of 7 drug war prisoners recently jailed on Drug charges stemming from a deliberate and desperate sabotage  of Michigan’s Medical Marijuana law by Attorney General Bill Schuette, Michigan Senate, and the Western District of the United States Federal Court. These men were in compliance with the Michigan Medical Marijuana act.  JoAnn Forsberg, the wife of Dennis Forsberg explains it like this:

“Three years in a Federal Prison in Butner NC. He was transparent and created legal documents. For all tax and documents filed with state and federal as he was leasing grow rooms to caregivers. We support medical marijuana. But the kicker of three years in prison is we don't smoke Marijuana at all. Forty years together never needed too. In prison for it. Yet even the federal prosecutor stated: we will not allow you to take the drug reduction class to take a year off your sentence because we know you don't smoke or use (drugs) medical marijuana. So the DEA put him in prison via drug leader (for leasing). But know he does not smoke. Federal laws are a mess”
“I have stated as the government holds all patents on medical marijuana. So when it is legal they have the control of it. That Dennis and these other Okemos seven will be the model the government uses to state: this is how we want it grown. Old warehouses. Separate double locked rooms. Police allowed access. Township, schools, authorities all informed. Taxes paid when caregiver sells to own patient. As it takes six hard months of work to create a quality medicine/plant. So no profit. But to be legal taxes need to be paid to be fair to all hardworking Americans and carry a share of tax burdens. Truly the binder these men did to be legal will be the foundation used as an example for all across America someday.”

2014 Address for 3 of the seven
Ryan Basore #16645-040 Jeremy Duval #46344-039 Lance Forsberg #16646-040
FCI Morgantown, Federal Correctional Institution, P.O. Box 1000 Morgantown, WV, 26507
Better yet, the seven need to be sequestered out of Federal Custody to serve their remaining time at home in Michigan.

Marc Emery
Marc Emery #40252-086 is a Canadian Citizen from British Colombia being held in the United States for mailing marijuana seeds to people from Canada to America. He is currently in the 3rd year of a 5 year sentence at the Federal Corrections facility in Yazoo City Mississippi for seed trafficking.  Marc has requested to serve his remaining time in Canada.  Unfortunately, the Conservative Canadian Government led by Prime Minister Stephen “I hate Pot” Harper is refusing to let one of his own Citizens come back home.

Mark Emery’s mailing address is:

This is an international travesty of major proportions and while this man is in the USA, he is using tax dollars and resources to be kept in an American jail, even though the State of Washington has fully legalized Marijuana for recreational use.  This man is serving time for something that is legal in 20 states in America.  If the Federal Government had any sense, this man would be kicked out of the American Prison and sent to the State of Washington. He could live there in freedom and be closer to his home in British Columbia until Canada takes him back and Stephen Harper is voted out of office.  (Read the Full Story of Marc Emery by Clicking Here)

The conduct of the Federal Government should lead congress to Stand Their Ground and knock this type of behavior down.  This is a complete waste of money and these men should be first on the list for a commutation of their sentences from President Obama before he leaves office.  What would be better is that the US Congress start to de-fund the DEA.   It is time to withhold grants from States who abuse people with excessive sentences and draconian treatment for a plant instead of taking over 40 votes to defund Health Care. This is another candidate for a sequestered release by Eric Holder and the US Congress.  Marc Emery would be welcome in Michigan.
Chef Ra @ Hash Bash
R.I.P.
Putting more white people in jail is not a solution but an expansion of the problem.  Overcrowded prisons, asset forfeiture, and draconian judges must be put in check by the US Attorney General.  Communities all over America must hold their County Prosecutors accountable by threatening to recall them from office. For those who keep pitching the excuse that arresting cannabis users protects children the message to the kids is this. If you will be 18 years old on or before Election Day, you must register to vote and GO VOTE!  Vote Cannabis for change by selecting candidates who are supportive of the reform of Marijuana laws. This is the non-violent and democratic way of managing the republic to which we stand, one nation under the bud with liberty and justice for ALL!  Period.
